I saw videos of Charlie Kirk over the years as he debated students at colleges. He was very polite, cheerful, and competent in expressing his opinions. I never thought he was controversial in promoting patriotism, religion, politics, family, children, etc. I was shocked to learn he had been assassinated and that some people in congress said they disagreed with everything he said. That measured them, not Charlie.
He was accused of being racist when he criticized an incompetent supreme court justice, a corrupt district attorney, and an incompetent former vice president. He was not racist or racially biased. They got their positions through racial bias (DEI). That was not his fault. He criticized their performance.
I have seen some videos that debunk accusations against Charlie. I hope this continues very efficiently.
I read that Charlie promoted “Intelligent Design” and disputed Darwin and natural selection. He was not a scientist, and I would have to see more of his statements about this. I think we are all on a continuum of understanding how the universe works. I think there was intelligent design in the creation of the universe and natural selection is a search algorithm that finds what is possible. It cannot find what is not there. A lot of fallacies people have is because they assume that God cannot be smarter than they are.
There was a terrible security failure that led to Charlie’s assassination. After Trump’s ear was grazed by a bullet at his Pennsylvania rally, I thought we were lucky this time but what could happen next time. Was the shot aimed at Charlie’s neck or was the aim at his heart off and the bullet was a little high and fatal? There was insufficient analysis before and after Trump’s shooting and the security for Charlie should have been designed to prevent a similar roof-top shooter. We cannot rely on chance. There were multiple guards near his tent but no drones or guards on the roof tops.
There are industry standards and certifications for information security but are there standards and certifications for event security? Each organization cannot expect to invent proper security.
